West Coast Reading Group: Who do the Police Serve and Protect?

The movement against police brutality and racism are continuing to grow in the US, Canada, and the world. There is an ever increasing push on government on all levels to defund and abolish policing. What would this mean for our communities? What is the role of policing today? Do the police serve and protect all citizens, or a select few?

Join the next Spring reading group to take part in this important discussion. This is building off our last discussion of Marxism, oppression, and racism with a specific focus on looking at the role that police and violence play in the state, the movement to defund and abolish, as well as the role of organized socialists and revolutionaries.
