vancouver Film Screening: Pride (2014)

June 30 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm PDT

In honour of Pride month, the Spring “vancouver” Branch is screening the film PRIDE (2014) about how Queer and Trans activists stood up for low-income mine workers and helped change their situation in the strike!

Learn how we can come together and support one another even when we may have different experiences, because no matter what, workers’ justice and 2SLGBTQIA+ activism are entirely linked!

PRIDE tells the inspiring true story of Lesbians & Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), a queer solidarity campaign in England that built support for miners and their families in South Wales during the Great Miners’ Strike of 1984-85.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Miners’ Strike, and the 10th anniversary of the release of the film PRIDE.

Join us on Sunday, June 30th at 5:30pm at St. Margaret’s Cedar Cottage Church, 1530 E 22nd Ave, in so-called “vancouver”
