Online reading group: The economy, the pandemic and the state

Join us for an on-line reading group on the economy, the pandemic and state responses. We are facing an unprecedented economic crisis in the midst of a worldwide public health catastrophe. Already 929,000 people filed for EI last week and this number is likely to rise. There will be much talk about shared sacrifice, about how governments need to bailout businesses and so forth. We will be discussing the roots of the crisis, how states are responding and the ways in which we can push for socialist alternatives.
